hi there,
i would like some advice please if i may...before i start i would like to say i do not know much about tiling!
i've recently had my hallway tiled with victorian tiles...i work away from home so only got to see the finished job when i came home on friday (the job started on monday) and i think the finished job was OK but not amazing, like i wanted it to be.
i want to know if my expectations are too high... for example...the boarder runs on one side of the hall way for about 4 meters...i would expect this line to be exactly straight...but if you look at it, the line is out 2/3mm either side in a few areas...is it too much to expect the line to be spot on straight?
other thing...the tiler mentioned that he will use plain tiles from where the boarder ends to the the doors of where the doors for the reception rooms begin...ive realised that this plain tile gap has now been used for the whole way around boarder (like a boarder around a boarder) and not just the gap between the board and the the door to the reception rooms....should the tiler have tiled to the walls of the hallway with the main boarder tiles and only used the plain tiles for when the boards meets the reception room doors? is the tiler being lazy by using the plain tiles tiles all the way round so he does not have to be accurate in getting the patten to fit and just cut the plain tiles where need be?
like a say above, i know nothing about tiling, so my expectations may be too high, but for the money i paid i would expect the job to be finished to a standard that justified the fee i paid
thanks
