Tiler left me in a mess

Tiler been here all day and left big gaps around edge (two finger width in places), also broken my electric garage door and overheard him calling me a silly woman that had bought cheap crap tiles. He is due back on Monday as his 'cutter burnt out' (not sure if this is right) but what can I do about the gaps? Feel so upset, I know it's only a floor and nobody died but I am on my own and feel he has taken advantage. I miss my dad!

Hi Daisy. Have you paid this guy anything yet? Also are the gaps where he has cut the tiles short or is it a gap next to a full tile which would indicate poor setting out?Do you have any pictures you can show us?

Welcome to TF daisy, as above, if you could post a couple of pictures we will be able to give you some accurate advice. Don't panic, most things can be fixed.

Welcome Daisy, At least you have the weekend for us all to help you plan a course of action.
Where are the gaps, Most floors should have an expansion gap around the perimeter, (not two fingers wide though:yikes🙂, and any gap should be hidden when skirting boards are refitted.

Daisy every one of us gets into trouble on a regular basis for using "naughty" words 😛 don't worry about it 😉

Try and post pics and we can assess the work. And if he's being a REMOVED then don't make him any tea, no cakes and don't recommend him to anybody.

If the gaps arent being coverd with skirting etc and they are going to be visable then tell him your not happy with them? he should do these again...i have worked with the cheapest of cheap tiles this doesnt change how accurate your cuts should be...dont let him use cheap tiles as a excuse!...stand your ground.
