got a 30m bathroom to do next week for a local(ish) bathroom company, they're providing all materials and their addy is powdered sovereign spf, has anyone used it and what's it like? i normally insist on supplying addy myself, but not an option with this firm:thumbsdown:

used the tubbed stuff and its no good, however the grout i did like but to answer your question Doug,NO never used it

did a search on here a year ago, the only post I found was a guy who supplied it bacause he made a big profit on it. never used it myself doug
Tub stuff given away free by some tile shops, that speaks volumes

Doug-
Sovereign - Its been around for 35 years! Mainly in the south of England I believe 'cause that's where I first used it.
Have also used the white grout (oftn in the last 3 years or so ) which comes in seperate packs within a larger 10kg bag - Its very good.
Have used the fast set but cannot remember if it was any good - sorry!

Timeless John.

Used it over a few years, never had a problem with it and would use it now if my local tile shop was'nt charging so much. It does have it's limitations though, not to be used in swimming pools and if you are applying onto ply it needs priming, which I learnt after a fews years of using and never had a problem. It's quite smooth and dos'nt suddenly set on you, good stuff IMO.
Mind you it was the grey only I ever used

I not a tiler so not used it personally but I have seen a few sites where it has been used and also their primers (SBR) mainly. I can't comment on how easy it was for the tilers to use but I know there were no issues long term. Not sure if this any help or not.

that's just the sort of help I'm looking for mate:thumbsup:

One was a house in Norfolk - Travertine on sand cement heated screed. Another was I think it was Porcelain on another house in Cambridge also on sand cement. Couldn't say which specfic products though but gives a bit more info for you. Also seen their SBR used as a primer on anhydrite. This did cause problems first time round but that was because the screed was still wet through - I did tell him not to tile the screed 4 days after it was laid), they stripped it, dried it and reapplied I have heard nothing more from it since so assume all now ok.
