We forgot to lift my Karl Dahm washboy off a job & had to use my mates Rubi washboy on another job.

This is the 1st time i have used 1 & i think it will be the last.

Not impressed with it at all, it runs the sponge far too wet, even after 5/6 runs over the rollers.

nice to know that ,was thinking of buying a new wash boy for xmas to my self ,think i will be staying with the KD

Had the same last week, grouting with a mate using my karl dahm and his tile easy model i think.Used it the once, nuff said.

i still do it the old fashion way........bucket of water and a sponge.

tried using a wash boy, but i cant seem to get on with them..

Does the rubi grill still sit near the top of the bucket so you have to fill the thing almost to the brim. I used to have one and it was 'interesting' having to carry it over the carpet!

That's the one, you need muscles like Popeye to carry it as the grill is only a few inches from the top. My mate put a hole in mine cleaning it, I'd only had it a few days and was glad to see the back of it!

Yeah, the grill is right at the top, takes loads of water to fill it.

The carpet fitters were in with us laying a carpet throughout the house & i had to carry it out from the kitchen over the new carpet!! Not nice when the handle feels like it wants to break with the weight of the thing.

My mate bought this roughly 9 years ago & has used it once. Now i know why.

Unless its a small floor then i would never grout a floor without using a washboy.

my washboy ain't got a name on it, it's black with red rollers, does the job but i've not used a karl dahm so i cant compare.

my first one was a cheapie...garbage! KD all the way, although I only use it on decent sized floors. Use bucket and hydro sponge for everything else.
