How to finish this? Transition/floor prep

Hi

I'm getting to the end of the room and there is a gap in the floor where I used to have a wall,

I have a choice of ra ither putting a floor board in the hole and then tiling to the floor board, or fill the gap in the floor and tile to the existing floor board.

Few questions....

Can I get a transition strip about 2.3m for full length of room? Any stores local to s.london?

What is the best thing to fill Gap with? I have sharp sand and cement, could I use this and tile 2 days later?

Do not use sharp sand and cement it will not be ready . Either use a thick bed levelling compound . Their are a few around or use ardex a35 rapid drying cement and sand as this is ready to tile easily the next day . Most tile shops or flooring shops should be able to do you a transition strip to 2.5 metres long .

Do not put a little anti-fracture mat ?.
or at least a little plastic mesh?

Thanks, I'll see if a can find that product! Would it be wise to lay something over that section?

If you have enough tiles or offcuts just double tile it
