Fila Travertine sealer

Just laid 40 sqms of travertine on a floor. Now i've not laid travertine on a large floor before.

I've bought a bottle of Fila Polished Travertine sealer - and test it on an off cut. Sealed half the tile, left it etc. I've just put some ketchup on both the sealed and unsaled sides and the sealant has not made the slightest bit of differene to the effect of the sauce. It has not stained it red, but has sort of tarnished the surface of the stone - on both the sealed and unsealed side. I thought the sealant would prevent this - if there is no difference between the sealed and unsealed sides, what's the point of the cost and time of using the sealent?

Did you just leave the ketchup to dwell..?.....and are you a tiler by trade..?

How much sealer have you put on the sample, try a second coat and put a drop of water on the sample if it marks the travertine a third coat maybe required
