I,m starting a travertine floor in morn with 400 x 600 from Fired Earth.
When removing tiles from pallet today i noticed they were varied thickness ?
I contacted Fired Earth and they say they have a 2mm tolerance ?
All the stuff i have ever fitted from CTD has always been same thickness!
I reckon i will have to treat like slate, lay all the thick one's first then build up the thinner ones to suite ! Has anyone else got round this problem ?

Used quite a while ago, did'nt have any problems. There paper faced mosaics now thats another story:yikes:

How is the stone described....honed and calibrated..?..

Ask them....and if it is, then 2mm is not good enough for calibrated..

I fit loads of stone and trav is usually good when it comes to calibrations....

it is quite a tolerance, 2mm, as Dave says, it's not on if they're sold as calibrated imo:thumbsdown:

Exactly !
it is honed and calibrated !
Fired Earth is just an expensive name ! Not good quality !
i'm gonna have to lay thick 15mm first then then 13mm !
