hellp peeps,,have a small job coming up a fireplace hearth with black granite,,never worked with granite before will i need special cutter? or angle grinder to cut this? im only assuming myself it will need to be a wet cutter? any info would be much appreciated:thumbsup:

Not worked with granite mate, but from speaking to a couple of kitchen fitters that use granite, it needs to be honed and polished to keep the edges looking professional, I would have thought a wet cutter with the right blade would be ok, just do it slow, don't force it through the blade.
Hope this helps a bit mate.

try and use a wet cutter with a minimum of 500watts output. anything else might struggle a bit on granite ;0)

Be aware, to get a high grade finish on the edge they use various grit rated paper, ranging from 50 grit, through to 15000 (high Buff). This is done to gradually remove the cut marks to ensure a mirror finish.
