Hi, I have benn tiling for about 6 years now, so i would consider myself a competent tiler. I have been offered to tile a balcony which has felt on it. I have never tiled a balcony before. I thought i would put in a new floor with 4 x 2 and overboard it with aquapanel or 22mm wbp ply and then tile it. Thanks in advanced.

i was intending to put it on top of the felt.

Return side? don't quite understand. The are is about 4m2 thanks

Felt is considered a temporary roof covering, I get the idea you are going to build a timber frame lay it on top of the felt, auqaboard and then tile. If that is what you are planning on doing it won't work I’m afraid

This really isn't about how much tiling experience you've got, it's about how much building knowledge you've got, i'm sure you could tile it but that isn't the issue it's how watertight you can keep it.

How is the roof constructed at the moment? (I know it's covered with felt)

What is the room below? (I only ask this if it's a shed/outhouse or something that doesn't need to be completely water tight and you can do something on a budget)

And have you got any picture?

The roof i think is made with wooden joists. underneath there the entrance to the house which is open air. thanks.
