Hi all!
Great forum - look forward to delving over weeks to come! I live in the depths of nowhere in south west France where I'm renovating a house, and as I've got over 200 square metres of wall and floor to tile over the next few months I thought I'd better learn to do it properly rather than the usual pick-it-up-as-you-go-along DIY way. No courses here - everyone still learns by apprenticeship and there's very little mid-life career changing. So .... I've just done the NETT course, which I picked after trawling the feedback here and I can honestly say it lived up to everyone's praise.
There aren't many (as in practically none) female artisans here in France - it's still seen as a very male thing. Can't see why. Although I wasn't particularly looking for a new career (got enough of those as it is) a few people have already offered me some work, so why not? (When I've finished up here, that is). So no doubt I'll be pestering everybody with my problems for a while!
Anyone else here live in France?
