Could anyone give me some advice please? I had planned to have Amtico flooring (the one with Easygrout) on my new kitchen floor, over some underfloor heating (electric, mesh panels across the floor). The builder of my new extension says that sometimes Amtico can discolour if it is laid over underfloor heating, and has advised me against getting Amtico. I'm concerned that stone tiles will be too hard in the kitchen - too sore on my legs if I'm spending a lot of time there, and likely to break any dishes which I might drop. So I'm keen to have something softer, like Amtico. Looking at the Forum, I can see that there could be discolouring if central heating pipes are laid under Amtico, but we are planning to have sheets/panels, run on electricity. The floor will be chipboard. At the moment it looks as if I might have to choose between underfloor heating with stone tiles, and Amtico with no underfloor heating. We don't have any central heating in this house, so no radiators in the kitchen, perhaps just a couple of plinth fan heaters. Any advice from you experts out there would be gratefully received! Thanks.
Margaret

How come Chris? Im considering Karndean as an option for our hall, kitchen and breakfast room. I was going to go the UFH heating route. We have no insulation under our screed

We don't have central heating, Chris, and we thought that underfloor heating would be a good way of putting some heat into the room, so that we only need to use other heating as a top-up. But thanks for the reassurance that Amtico is warm underfoot.
