Employment is a relationship between two parties regulating the provision of paid labour services. Usually based on a contract, one party, the employer, which might be a corporation, a not-for-profit organization, a co-operative, or any other entity, pays the other, the employee, in return for carrying out assigned work. Employees work in return for wages, which can be paid on the basis of an hourly rate, by piecework or an annual salary, depending on the type of work an employee does, the prevailing conditions of the sector and the bargaining power between the parties. Employees in some sectors may receive gratuities, bonus payments or stock options. In some types of employment, employees may receive benefits in addition to payment. Benefits may include health insurance, housing, disability insurance. Employment is typically governed by employment laws, organisation or legal contracts.
I’m torn on which pattern to use. They are 1x2s for the floor and walls. Seems like simple horizontal stack will be simple and easy to line up floor and wall vertical grout lines. But also considering 1/3 offset patterns. Will repeat or assending offsets look too busy? I don’t know if its...
Hello, 1st time tiling job coming up. Old bathroom suite is ripped out and now ready to tile. Watched loads of how to videos and ready to give it a go. I have a question with regards to the bath. The bathtub is just your standard tub with front cover. The question is can I lay floor tiles to...
We hired someone to do a small outside patio using porcelain tiles. They finished the job whilst we were away since they went way over their original estimated time. Now we’ve returned from our holiday, I’m really disappointed and don’t know if I’m being really picky or being taken for a mug...
Having extension done and have 3 bathrooms to be done and this is the first one he has finished seems very rushed and careless or am I expecting too much many bad cuts many tiles proud there are different spacings between them chipped corners.
What would you recommend to Do or am I expecting...
Am I right to be disappointed with this finish and expect my tiler to return to put things right? He tells me he has finished my job. Thanks in advance.
I was quoted over £4700 (inclusive of VAT) to rip out and replace my bathroom. This does not include the price of the bathroom suite itself nor does it include the cost of the actual tiles or removal of waste.
I selected a local plumber in Norfolk who does bathroom installations. I checked out...
In the middle of getting my bathroom done and took a closer look today. The sloped ceiling cuts are not even, and then all of the corner cuts are also uneven. We are planning a grey grout so I am concerned it will look a mess once done. Do you think it will look ok, or should I get it redone?
Hi, I've layed No More Ply on my small bathroom floor ready for tiling. The sub floor was not perfect despite my best efforts, as it's old floor boards. I called No More Ply and they said just use more of the mega strength adhesive and it will expand to fill any small gaps.
The NMP went down...

I have just been asked to tile a bathroom but have no idea how long it will take and therefore how to price it. Before I start I will need to remove the shower, shower screen, sink, toilet cistern, and radiator also I have to...
Hi. Got someone in to do the bathroom. Could anyone give me some opinions on the tiling so far.
Top left tile fell off soon after guy finished and went. Middle one I tried to move after about 5 hours and came off easily. Last one on row also came off easily after 18 hours with same amount of...

Hello! First time tiling a bath. My issue is that the shower wall is about .5" (1.5cm) narrower at the top than at the tub edge over a span of about 7 feet (208cm). Should I begin tiling with the 2x6 inch bullnose edge and then trim the tiles on the inside corner edge? I'm just having a tough...
Recently (finally!) wrapped up our bathroom so just here to say a big thanks to the advice gained from this forum! Lots of posts read and a few of my q's answered..
Was my first job at our home so I could take my time and I learned loads from doing it, can't wait for the next job soon, cheers!
Hope to gauge the reaction from pro tilers on here, as the guy I’ve employed to do my kitchen floor thinks he’s doing a great job.
The gap on the wall on is 30mm btw, don’t know what size of skirting he thinks I’m putting on.
Would anyone here not use spacers?
Opinions welcome before he comes...
Same as the title really. I've been lurking for a few days and most google searches point me here. Will be having a go at a wetroom. Might do a build thread if I have time.
I've read some great advice so far, so thanks for all the help.
Hi, I have recently had my NEW BUILD property tiled with porcelain tiles. As you can see from the images, the skirtings look ruined! This is a new build property and everything was sitting perfectly until the tiler came. The tiler has been paid but I have told him that I am not happy and he will...
Hi Guys,
My question is, is my floor tiles laid correctly. used a local tiler, please see the images, these tiles are 600x600 polished marble effect porcelain floor tiles.
Should the Marble effect veins flow in same direction or is it correct to flow randomly, personally how would you have...
