Porcelanico is Spanish for porcelain..😉
Doesn't actually say manufactured in Britain . So in theory they could own a plant in Spain but it would still be manufactured by them
anything over 10% is essentially a wall tile, it far to open and porous to go on a floor. Given its low breaking strength its really not durable enoughI can't remember what the absorbtion rate of water is meant to be in ceramics . But people say about ceramics not being suitable for floors but years ago fitting ceramics was the norm and fitting porcelain was unusual so because we have better materials does it mean they are no longer any good . Mercedes is a better car than a skoda does mean thst the skoda won't get you from a to b or should we say skoda's aren't fit for purpose because they are not as good as a Mercedes
Eb>10% there's no way they're floor suitable
It’ll all be Chinese......
If you have no luck with homebase, go direct to the BCT QA team. They're usually pretty helpful.
Not the greatest of tiles but this is not a normal quality issue. Its an actual fault. Who is your supplier? Send them pictures and they should get BCT involved. BCT had glazing issues on a production run and have confirmed 20-30% of the batch are faulty. We've had a couple of cases raised and BCT covered all the tile and fixing costs to get them all replaced.
What happened to all that stuff wanting to know about what people thought . In fact a ranking officer of bct went to see Geoff @Plan Tec Tiling I believe . As far as I know that as far as it got .
Contact him and ask him what his findings are and ask what they are going to do about them .Yes, it was indeed. Lots of empty promises and assurances but it turned into nothing in the end sadly
Hi All. So we have bought and designed our kitchen around the Mr Jones Charcoal tile which we love. Really disappointing to read some bad reviews on it and then found out BCT went belly up just before we placed order. We still have our hearts set on them but I am not prepared to pay for tiles that could look bad and then there is no aftercare as the company do not exist.
I have contacted Tile Giant who make these but in porcelain, I was really surprised by this and the guy there said they are much better quality. We have ordered a sample and are waiting or it. They are made in Europe and have nothing to do with BCT.
Any of you lovely tilers out there want to comment on this? would porcelain be better? they are still 10mm apparently. Are there any questions I should be asking?
Any advice would be really appreciated as its not a cheap kitchen so don't want to get this wrong or ill end up like BCT!!
Bought them from The Tile Shop. They offered us a replacement of the tiles but we don’t trust the quality of these. They then changed their minds and said would offer a discount. Continue to blame installer or us. BCT has a website, who runs that?No bct is not back in business , some designs have been sold to al murrad who are going to make in porcelain , and i heard also that some designs were sold tp original style , surely this comes down to contractual law , you didnt buy your tiles from bct , laura ashley allowed them to use their name, where did you buy them that is where you should go
