just wondering how every1 else would charge in this situation.

12m2 of bathroom wall to tile and 4 m2 of floor to tile in the same bathroom.

would you charge for the 12m2 of wall and then charge a day rate for doin the small floor or would you price the customer for 16m2 because it was all in the same room

any insite would be muchly appreciated

Personally i take it as 2 seperate jobs, and give them an estimate for both. I would go on a m2 rate on the walls and day rate on the floor if its too small to make enough money on the m2, although be careful that you don't give them a day rate for the floor and it takes you 2 whole days to complete. I've done this a couple of times, and the second day was so anoying coz it was like doing it for free. Also try and work out how many days u think the walls will take to do and compare the m2 to the amount you want to be earning daily see if it matches.

thanks for that.i was thinking bout pricing it like that.just wanted to hear how others would price it.

i never thought bout the pricing in terms of how much my day rate would match in with the amount of time a jpb would take.just made that mistake.qouted a large bathroom by the m2,ended up spending a whole day more than i thought at it because it was full of auckward cuts.kinda worked a day for free

I would charge it as one job - 4 meters of floor should be down in no time.
Work out your day so as you can get your floor down last thing before you leave one day.
If you have to charge a full day for 4m of bathroom floor if you are already there there is something wrong

If you are there on a job anyway, price it as an hour rate.

Don't slap £150 on the quote because it will bite into another day out of your week.

Plan your scheme of work so that you can have half a day at the end of what your already doing to get it down and charge accordingly (75 plus bits). 🙂

forgot to say,

If you are going to do the job properly, add another 60 to remove / install sanitaryware and Silicon up. 🙂
