Hi guys first post on the fourm so go easy, i am currently 2 years into a selfbuild and I have had my mate lay rustic slate from classic flagstones. The tiles are very heavly rivened in places and also contain alot of iorn staining so far i have been going over them with a sponge and water , i have scrubed the real dirty one s with a brush. How many time should i go over them ? And how do i know they are clean enough to seal before they get grouted? Cheers alistair

If you're happy with how they look when dry, I'd say you're good to go.. If not, maybe get some advice on cleaning products for slate. I'm afraid I can't be of anymore help to you, but hopefully someone in the know will be along shortly (ahem... Dave! Lol). 😉

what sort of dirt are you trying to clean off them? adhesive staining, foot traffic dirt etc?

Mainly quarry dirt and dust from cutting. I am going to seal before grouting with OLE-REPELLA any tips on how to apply it.
Cheers ali
