In the middle of tiling a house refurb...done one bathroom 3 more to go, then 60sqm slate kitchen floor in the same property. And a limestone floor to strip and re-seal friday/saturday.

I start a 27 mtr 60x60 Marble bathroom floor onto a Gyvlon screed.. and a 6mtr wooden travertine laundry room floor ( same house), this is part of an overall 200+ mtrs in this property but not all ready to do yet... All the floors up stairs and down are Gyvlon...

All tiled floor area's will be uncoupled with Dural CI... and wet wall area's with Dural WP.. I have some bespoke bull nosing to do, so looking forward to getting stuck into this one.

Start with a 35 metre bathroom in 300 x 600 porcelain, followed by a 16 metre kitchen floor in 500 x 500 porcelain and a 3 metre porch floor in 300 x 600 porcelain. On top of that, I've got a set of exterior steps to tile with a special order Keope step tile.

Tomorrow I have an easy day at last,

Job one, replace bath taps on a cast iron bath (plastic nuts, phew!)

Job two, install TRV on a lounge radiator.

Then back home for some serious catch up on quotes/paperwork.

Later on this week I have a bathroom wall to tile and next Monday I start another full bathroom install, mid range suite and shower but all top notch work as usuall.
After that I have three more bathrooms to do that are booked in, all recommenations who are prepared to wait bless them.

I saw a bathroom done by a competitor of mine, OMG!!

He had two 15mm isolation valves poking out of the floor behind the pedestal, you could just see the screwdriver slot and the bottom comp nut was under the tile. There were no fewer than 4 cracked tiles, he had left the old toilet overflow poking out with an elbow on next to the new push button toilet, Silicon was smeared up to and inch above the wall at the back of the basin and general sloppy tiling with dodgy trim cuts. He also left the pan to floor gap unsealed with a plastic paccker poking out, the shower outlet elbow had a dodgy cut tile round it with a massive unsealed hole in it.

I never commented on this to the customer I just said "mmm".

This is why I'm always booked solid for bathrooms, I seem to be the only decent plumber round here.

I can honestly say i could have nothing this week !!!!!!
I was pulled off site work last week as the builder is waiting on money from buyers for loads of extras(they have sold house in London so money asap).
In that house i have a polished marble bathroom and ensuite on top of full toilet and kitchen splashback ! The house next door to tile too soon.
On another site i have two house with the first currently have a sunroom built on first.
Another big house has staled too because of delay in release of funds.. not good all this for me.

I'm starting at a guest house ripping out travertine floor tiles from six bathrooms and replacing with Karndean. The tiles were put in two years ago on 6mm ply and they're all breaking up. Good quality travvy too.....at least it was.

Bloody painful it is so don't go moving heavy filing cabinets around your garages 🙁

I'm in the middle of a 39m polished porcelain floor, then a down stairs loo/utility room, then finish off a 45m porcelain opus floor and a little splshback, and then its off too FLORIDA!! for a fortnight hey hey.

All you lot hard at it....and Iv'e got a day off!!!!! A lazy day to spend with the wife in Inverness waiting for the car to be serviced and MOTed. Probably get some early christmas shopping in and a couple of Starbucks. Had to pull a couple of lates last week to free up the time mind...so I'm not being that lazy!!! Good luck with the hernia recovery CJ...been there...done that. Got mine from coughing...takes a while to recover...dinna rush it mate!!

i thought i was gonna be lyin up !
Not so now,local tile shop manager has just contacted me with a 80m2 floor and two bathrooms for me for a tuesday start ! that'll fill my slot well.
