how many people on here have there vans written up, and does it bring work in,
im thinking of getting mine done renault traffic high roof so theres lots of space,
what sort of price would you expect to pay?
had a vivaro written up a few years ago but thought i was trying to cover all bases with just listing work we took on
and didnt get much from it
thinking of been a bit more direct this time
ie quality bathroom installs , rather than we do plumbing.plastering tiling ect
i could wrap it but thats expensive
cheers

I got mine done and I have had 1 job from it in a year. I think it just looks professional when you turn up for a quote and your well presented.

Mine is a blank canvas but considering getting it done. Got a quote for some really nice sign writing recently. Around the £550 mark

Had mine done, £250 ish on a VW Caddy maxi, had a couple of jobs from it since January. Really got it done to look more professional as Sean said.

Wold like to get mine done, but it only advertises to the neighbours near to your job. Main reason is, it also advertises what tools are inside!

I've got the rear of mine done, had a couple of jobs (that I know of) from it, I won't bother if I change my van as I don't think it's worth the expense, extra insurance and the fact that it advertises that tools are inside.

Mines done but I dont think I would waste my money again, can count on one hand the jobs that I know I have got off it, but I suppose on the other hand it gets your name out there

I've got mine done, just minimal ,it would cost about £100, but I get mine free.
We'll worth it IMO, customers always like a smart looking van than a rust bucket parked outside,
Oh yes yes yes I know before the jockeys come out and say " it doesn't make you a better worker with a nicer van ect ect "
But if you have something nice looking they will think you are a clean worker as well if you look after things 😉

i have a brand new vivaro 2014, and i am not bothering as i never got a job from it when i had it done before , as bri said ......

Completely agree, a tidy signwritten van is a great advert to your customers that yo will do a tidy job. But if that's one of the only benefits i will keep mine unwritten.
i suppose I'm lucky, in that most of my work comes from recommendation, so lettering not needed. ( until I get quiet)

also no one notices it at the pub or golf course!! 😳

Also, if you have your phone number written on your van, it doesn't look good when you have to give other road users a bit of "advice" 😉

Mine was about £150 a few years ago. I feel its worth doing as it looks professional and gets your name about in the locality. Mobile advertising in the area you work at minimal cost - a marketing mans dream.

You can get extra work from it as I had my escort van done when I was self employed. I got someone come up to me as I was fueling up and i eneded up doing kitchens and bathrooms in four new builds.
It all so lets your customers neighbours see you.

Couldn't agree more. My van is cleaned weekly inside & out and that is often commented on by customers

Sold my van tonight, waiting on delivery of new one next week hopefully.
Defo getting this van sign written as I ran my old one for 4 1/2yrs without & feel I missed out on advertising, especially in some of the more affluent areas out with my local area.

I had my old van sign written. One job I got from it was where I let a couple out of a junction whilst traffic was crawling along, so they took my name and number from my van and I got 2 bathrooms and a kitchen job out of it.
