I agree, a sign written van can tell you what you hold so make sure you are extra secure if you carry valuables.

I get lots of work through my van. Everyone knows it hehe

On the truck it dos'nt indicate what you do though, could be a tool seller of sorts.

The van is well covered.

whats the ladders for? you do the guttering too mate? lol

I've 2 large sets of ladders that I carry with me at all times. Have larger sets if I need them. Use them for various jobs from plastering & decorating in stairwells to windows & external lighting. Various uses really.

From time to time I may do guttering, soffits & fascias if the client wants me to do it but generally leave it to the Pikies

I wanted to keep the Nav basic. Use it for personal use too as well as quoting or additional transport for work if the van is full. Everyone around here knows the name so didn't need to over do it. Just wanted the matching plates to make sense lol.

Did'nt see the number plate though

Interesting thread guys, I use my Mondeo Estate and it often bothers me that people perceive you on what you arrive in, can't really blame them. I often have to empty it to do family stuff so it does serve a double purpose 🙂 When it dies I'll get my Van and then decide whether or not to cover it in graphics 🙂 Have a good day everybody

A blank van is like a safe ,,,inviting. A tilers van sez wtf has he got to pinch. IMO
Loads of poor tilers tools inside, have a go if you like 🙂

I drive a Focus estate auto due to losing the use of my left arm I can only drive auto's, there is more auto estates than van's but it suits me,I have my name on the back and photo's of my work on both side's which cost me £50 the first time I was parked got a job thru someone seeing this the job came to about £500 so well worth it.

I knew a clay shooter who had one arm and believe me he took beating....he was a crack shot.

Mines all sign written. I think it looks professional. Only reason I had it done is when I forst went self employed I wanted as many people as possible to know im tiling. A blank van you could be any trade.

Each to their own....

My way of thinking, it's free advertising. Sat on a clients driveway for days at a time.

Funny enough I've got a passat estate but the wife was moaning about the mess plus it drinks juice like hell I got a great price with the van 72,000 miles 1 owner South Wales fire brigade so I bought it I've only been self employed for 3 months so thought it be great to get me up and going

For 17 years I left school at 17 and went to work for Taylor tiles on a three year apprenticeship I then became a foreman for a building firm and had enough of that so I went self employed I'm just hoping it's going to work out

oh thought we may be on the same sort of level haha!... well I hope it does for ya you got much coming in? how are you finding the work mate? cheers

I've got a couple of private jobs not a great deal and I've got two sites one site I've got 4 houses to do and I'm on a big site but I'm out of tiles and I've caught up with the other trades all in probably a months work the fella I'm working for is awesome and he is trying hard to get work in for me he seen my work and is happy with it but I am struggling trying to balance things as I want to work for this fella but if he hasn't got much on do I go off and sub for someone else or stay out incase he got something on

I will get this bad boy back on topic!
My van is covered with my logo and graphics it cost around £300 and has paid for itself 5 times over. Strangely enough I've quoted 2 jobs on my road this week from them seeing my van parked outside. Well worth it
