gecko tiling

i have a large room to tile, ufh 600 x600 quartz tiles i have looked at tile trader at the giant 20 x 20 trowel will this be suitable?

i would use slc compound over the ufh, then the floor should be ideal for a 10mm round notched trowel, try and avoid trowelling directly over ufh, damaging the wires is the last thing you want to do!
i would only use a 20mm trowel if the floor was in really poor condition for level

elec matting, the client dose not want to use slc. think his builder said he dont need it????

You'll need to get the ufh as flat as possible as it's been in it 's packaging and woudn't lay flat immediately. if you tile directly over ufh and on such a large area you'll use too much adhesive. The slc will do what it says "on the tin" (bag) to enable a smooth level surface to tile on.

If you are trowelling over the matting be very careful and get yourself a multimeter to check you haven't damaged anything as you go:thumbsup:

I agree with Diamond, also the SLC can act like a big storage heater and distribute the heat more evenly:thumbsup:

Either way you will be using "X" amount of material. By using SLC you will be protecting the UFH and getting the floor level and using less adhesive.....Simples
