tile onto fibreboard yes? or no?

Should I ply first as I am told that adheshion is not very good on fibreboard and will eventually come unstuck no matter what admix is used.
Please help

Depends on the fibreboard methinks. If you are talking about MDF, then Ardex reckon their stuff can do it (7001). Would probably board over it myself, don't know if I would be comfortable not doing so.

i was going to say use backer boards but i thought leave it & see wot the more experienced tilers suggest!

Simple answer is NO!!!... it will eventually swell with moisture seeping through the grout and the moisture from the adhseive....use either marine ply or cement backerboards....dave...
