Hello,

I have tiled my bathroom floor but noticed I was not a clean as could have been. There are about 3 tiles that have got a bit of tile cement in the contours of the tiles, I have tried scubbing them with a scrubbing brush, and plastiplug wipes but its not cleaned them. The tiles are just normal grayceramic tiles (slate effect, nothing fancy) would brick acid be too strong to use to clean them, if so any ideas what else I could use.

Ta,

Brick acid might be too strong; you could try it on a sample tile if you have any left..Lithofin do a product called power clean that is designed for tiles..I suspect there are other brands that have a similar product..always test on a sample tile before applying to the tiles that needs treating, to avoid damaging them

I agree with daveyboy, make sure you test it on a piece of spare tile first

I use LTP grout stain remover, this product is designed to remove gout, and cement residue from tile surfaces, also some residue removers can cause bleaching to coloured grout, this one doses'nt, its availible from tile giant. make sure you follow the instructions and do a test area.

Seanf - I totally agree with the other replies and there are some great products out there!

On ceramic floor tiles -Not for the novice and no resonsibility accepted :
I use brick cleaner every time 14% acid and it takes all the cement stains off. Use gloves/ test area/keep off joints/wash off asap with plenty of water/keep room ventilated.
Seen it used on a Car Showroom many years ago by a 'professional' cleaning company and air fumes stripped the stainless steel fittings throughout!!! Lucky no BMW's in at the time.

Just my opinion!

Timeless John.

Lithofin have 2 products....Cement Residue Remover and Cement Away. One is stronger than the other but I can't remember which one!

Phosphoric acid is the answer here. most companies do one in one form or another. Pay attention to the dwell times and be patient
