Steak pie

Its a Scottish tradition to have steak pie on new years day,so im buying two to take down south tomorrow.....anyone having steak pie on new years day?

sorry to say this bri but the best steak pie ive ever had was this year in englandshire:yikes: the bowe incline hotel in newcastle to be exact,,they seem to have an old school chef there,simple food but perfectly done well worth a visit all you geordie lads

Just had a read on my local paper and the butchers i go to is in MUIHEAD,S.Collins and son...they won the gold award in the world championships for scotch pies and bridies and also clinched the runners up award in the 'Butchers shop of the year award'.

Thought I'd follow brians example and have Steak pie for NY day. Got the pie out the fridge on the day, got the veggies prepared, decided to put the pie in, couldn't find it !! Thought i was going crackers!! chuffing dog had crept in, lifted it, put it in his bed (for later) and snuck upstairs out the way. Luckerly it was a supermarket one in a box and okay, lucky for the dog!

mine went down a treat and fed four of us.

weather was not bad either,6 degrees then we were driving home last night and it dipped to -12.5 IN dUMFRIES AND IT WAS -9 here in Kirkintilloch.
