Setting out - small toilet en suite tiling prep

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

Hi all, please see attached picture of where the toilet is located on the wall that's straight In front of the door. In the picture you can see the centre line drawn on the wall that I was going to have a grout line and use this as my starting point.
My issue is as you can see the toilet is not centered and can not be moved so would I still do what I had thought or is setting out differently a better option.
Thanks.

As long as it's at least half a tile I'd center the tile rather than grout line, but that's just my personal preference. Also, your choice of tile and grout colour may have an influence.

That seems a very narrow toilet 620 to 640mm?
Toilet is roughly 1090mm wide so if I centre the wall I get 1 full tile and roughly 200 of another each side of the centre.

Depends on tile choice and grout colour. How big are the smaller cuts?
I have one at roughly 65mm on an external corner, tile not patterned and the texture runs the length of the cut, grout will be a sandy colour probably.
