plaster on plaster board

ive got a 600x600 stud wall patch to fill with plaster board,can i use SBR OR APD instead of PVA to seal prior to doing a finished plaster job at home.

anyone know?
i have plenty of apd and sbr but no pva, and i dont want pva i aint got no use for after this piddly bit of plastering.
