The tile fixer said "the polish acts as a kind of sealant"......abolute bollox

That`s how i was taught by and italian marble fixer when i worked at east india docks in the early 1990`s, but we used rubber malets and not the shaft of a hammer,

his laying was different though, i would put 1 course along the top and 1 down 1 side of room, whats the laying method now days

nope can someone explain, reason being i have not done any marble work since 1995

used to lay tiles in factories like that all the time. used to set 2 corses square to each other then work off that. nowadays its all vibration tiling 100sqm a day.
