Hi Guys ,

Do Mapei do an equivilant product as BAL fastflex Liquid/powder as Bal seems to work out very expensive when laying a larger m2 floor.

thanks,

use mapeis keraquik mixed with latex plus liquid, works out much cheaper than fastflex and better gear imo....

benfer rapid with chem latex works out around £28 coverage is good cheaper than the mapei really good alternative to fast flex

Kerra quick and latex plus is a great 2 part system. But no where near as flexible as bal fastflex.

Well old git, what your opinion?
my opinion is fast flex is more flexible, but does an adhesive really need to be more flexible in 99% of situations ie: a 4 mt bathroom.
so i now find mapei more than adequate and at a sensible price, not sure how long they will remain as competitive though as they seem to be making big strides just lately, which normally means the price goes up when there reputation goes up.

Are you tiling direct to floorboards - or just to wood I think we need to ask.

i have used both adhesives loads, i love balflex its the best ady bal has ever made the mapei with laytex plus is also great for fixing on ply floors both when at full strength will pull the ply apart before you get the tile up what is the point of this post, price, fast flex is pricey so is the mapei and the latex so its like comparing a rolls royce and a bmw 7 series both pricey but good products

But what about if the opinion is based on fact? we are talking about 2 different adhesives.
If we were talking about 2 rubber crumbed adhesives, then you have a point.
I've used alot of both adhesives.
What about yourself. Who do you work for?
i work for myself, and have used bal for 30 years first bal flex and now fast flex.great product but expensive.
mapei i have only used on and off for a year.
personally i think granfix ultimate flex is a better buy than the other 2 for value and quality on wood floors.
