Major price difference - mapei/bal

Hello all

ive been to tile giant and topps tiles and cant believe how expensive bal cement adhesive is at topps tile,.

AT tile giant mapei keraflex is £20 a bag and covers about 9msq

at topps bal single part flex £48 a bag and covers about 8msq (wet areas)

.so purely on the basis of price im gona go with mapei for my first job??????

opinions anyone,. (tech departments for both brands advised me on cementious adhesive)

Oddly at CTD Bal Adhesive is more expensive than Mapei, yet Bal grout is cheaper :dizzy2:

i dont think you will get 9m2 out a 20kg bag tbh....wish we did.More like 5 to 6 m2.

20kg bag will only do 4 to 5m².

Thats depends upon the size trowel used....4 to 5 mtrs if a 10mm trowel and lots more as you come down in trowel size...

And i used to be a BAL user but much prefer Mapei now and a lot cheaper as well...

It would depend what sort of tile you were fixing and the condition of the substrate as to how many M2 it will fix.

hi golddigger if u set ur self an account up at topps tiles you will find topps tiles is alot cheaper with there own brand of adhesive

when you say there own brand of adhesive - do you mean not the Bal stuff?
