Latest tiling tool you bought and why?

Makita 4ah twin kit, Sigma 10L and 2.2kva generator were the big stuff I've got over the last few months. Nothing else planned but gumtree is a killer for impulse tool buys. Raimondi Zoe 105 on it last week for £500 but a bit close to Christmas

Used this for the first time today.
great for blind people like me. Really good in a dimly lot bathroom.

it has a LED that illuminates the bubble.

HI every one, I’ am new at the forum but I’ am a bit of tool fetish. Last thing I bought was Dewalt 24000. It will be test tomorrow on the site with polished porcelain 600*600. I`ll let You know how it`s gone.

No need to let us know, we already know it'll perform amazingly, and you won't know why you struggled along for so long before getting it lol! Welcome to the forum, and congrats on the new buy mate 😉

Bought a new laser today, Bosch GTL3.
Great piece of kit, should have invested in one a long time ago.

Set up a bathroom floor today in half the time that it would normally take me.
I've roughly 240m2 of a floor to try & set up out through a house & I'm hoping its going to save me a bit of time..

had one about 5 years now, like you say marvellous bit of kit. It will save you hours in setting out time. Great for big or small floors. If you do alot of floors this will be a great buy.

I don't know why I never invested in one of these years ago,
Well I do know why, I'm Scottish & I don't like to part with my hard earned cash!!!

Depends on how much light in the room. I only use mine for setting out, I transfer lines into marks on the floor then use a chalk line to place marks on the floor.
I do use it to tile to on smaller floors though.

How far can you see the line?

like all these lasers you always want them a bit brighter, but saying that never really had a problem.
Done alot of 150 to 250 Mt multi room set out with it. Probably paid for its self in one or two jobs.

I need to set all the rest of the floor tiling from the kitchen, 80m2, & I'm struggling to square off of a wall as its a converted Pig Barn.
They have a feature stone wall that's sitting about 200mm off square so I'm trying to square off steel extension that was put in.
Going to be fun.

So it's just another tool to clog up the van Neil?
Might just carry on with a tape measure and chalk line and a 3,4,5 then? Might take it off the list now then

No not really but you can do with out it......although I wouldnt want to be without it now. Its an extra tool , not a replacement for something else IMO, Just like laser levels, great to use and have advantages but I managed so many years without....make sense ?....Ok I just like tools !

I got some laser glasses recently which make the line a lot more visible. You do end up looking like Tackle-berry from Police Academy though! 😉

The wife treated me to two fat-max spirt-levels yesterday , when we whent to pick-up a new wood burning stove , i said that's a good deal as i was passing them, she said, get them then!!!!! i didn't need asking twice LOL.......

The laser square is great for doing ground floors etc. Had a few to do where a kitchen has an opening into two rooms and comes through perfectly. Only use it for setting out as it isn't too bright on a sunny day.

the dw089does the same as the gtl and is great for walls as well brighter than its predecessor the dw088 its an excellent laser :i was interested inthe gtl but for walls and floors i thaught the 089was better value and im very satisfied with it

You sure it's the same as the Bosch.
I've got the older Dewalt & that's a self level laser for vertical & horizontal lines.
It's not a square..

The dewalt has 3 beams Stef, it's a pricey bit of kit though.

Had to watch it on you tube, couldn't work out from the photos how it flung a 90 degree line.
Nice bit of kit but as you say Bri, pricey..

Bump

Don't mind me while I bump a few old threads. They might not be current for you, if they're not, just ignore them, and they'll soon drop off the forum list.

Bought Paul's (Gamma38) DC250-1200 couple weeks ago, decided it was time for a large saw that could plunge and mitre.
Also bought a new Festool TS55 plunge saw, cos it's kool!😀
I used the excuse that I'm building a workshop come Man Cave this year, and that was enough justification for me! 🙂

Bought a new Dewalt d24000 on Saturday night now waiting delivery! Wanted one for 6 months every time looked only rubbish about. Need a wet saw and many good reviews on it so hope it is as good as it's meant to be 🙂
