Hello tile people
thankyou for reading
i had some lovely chipped edge unpolished marble tiles fitted in my kitchen, (btw kids, don't do it)
The tiles did a reasonable job with the opus pattern and concrete levelling but the grouting is really poor.
its very deep and uneven, so it's impossible to keep clean.IMHO

Can I clean it out and regrout?
do I need to get the grout out?
If so do you know how?
aaahh that sounds very challenging. In west yorks
tanks a million
for any advice

It will come out matey, just a messy old job! Grinder with diamond blade is my weapon of choice, the fein multimaster with correct blade is another. Something with a hoover attachment is ideal, keeps the dust mto a minimum. Have you contacted your tiler about this?

Welcome Bobbins,

You can remove the grout, with care, either a Bosch/Fein multi-tool with correct blade, riff segment sawblade, will do the job. You can then re-grout.

Has the marble been sealed? If not you will need to seal prior to re-grouting.

How many sq metres do you have?

Cheers guys
ill try and locate the tool but er I am a chick, I was hoping to give it scrape with a wee chisel!
did contact him but he paid up and no reply, he was a bit of an mmm anyway....
i have 18 sq foot I think
i did seal it well the once, been meaning to do a re going over
ill order some stuff

If you were to use a wee chisel your marble tiles would be more chipped than they already are. Don't do it!!

Do you mean 18 sq metres not feet

just 'coz you're a lass doesn't mean you cant do it! Get your safety gear on and get stuck in, I find it quite theraputic. There's always the option of advertising the job on here and getting a pro to do it for you, by the time you have hired the tools bought new grout at retail prices, it'll probably work out to a similar price.

Lol yes indeed i could do that! I was let loose with a sledge hammer on a wall and let rip
That was therapy

Yes I Did mean 18sq metres
nice one
cheers
