That looks like great stuff whitebeam but will probably prove a bit too expensive as I'm only doing the area around the bath and sink - about 5msq in total. Thanks for thinking of me though. I've probably done about 2msq so far - have been at it since 8am!! Packing in now for the night! Off to B&Q tomorrow to stock up on Primer, Adhesive & will look for some more sanding sheets for the sander. (Have been wearing a mask & had window open...). Thanks for your support!

Try a heat gun with your scraper Lily - tends to 'rubberise' the paint and it comes off in big scraper wide films.

Thanks macten. I do have a heat gun and had thought about that but was put off as the instructions said use with wood or metal - no mention of walls. Didn't want to risk it destabilising something. But if you think it will be ok, I'll give it a go..... will try anything if it works!!

Your scaring me now CJ!! I'll 'upgrade' my mask when I go to B&Q later on..... then all set for a weekend of paintstripping!! Thanks. You guys are lovely - nice to not feel alone in all this!

Hi Lily, as you can see you're in capable hands here. Good luck with the job (try soaking your tiles in warm water for an hour then scraping off the adhesive if it proves a bit stubborn) and don't forget to post us a pic when you're done!

hi there lily
a bit of a pickle you got yourself into. but you are nearly there.
the tiling looked great thow.

iv go a bahco scraper. it has a carbide blade almost pointing back at you. you pull it along the wall etc and it shaves the paint off.
iv usd it doesens of times in situations like this. a bit dear for a scraper but it does a great job

Thanks Alan - maybe a carbide blade is the way to go...... will check them out in B&Q when I go later on..... Am going to do a couple of hours now, then give myself the night off so I can be ready to go again Saturday morning - and probably all weekend.... Can't wait to actually get tiling again - but that will probably be a while yet! Will keep you all posted with pictures!
