Handmade Vase Competition

Trying to find anything at all similar and can't. So I assume that's a good thing. Makes it more unique.

It's 30cm high and 14cm wide, money wise, I'm not sure it'd be viable to make them to sell. Like I say, that stone is £40 and it took about 4 hours to make, even at a tenner an hour, £80 is a bit steep for a vase!

Bargain mate, flog em all day long in the trendy markets here like Portobello Road or Camden!

love that Bri, I've never attempted any resin bonding or even seen it done, what is it?

It's a two part glue, I suppose a bit like araldite! I'm sure you remember that stuff. It has the glue and a hardener, sets very strong, I used it in a couple of off cuts just to make sure it was ok for stone, stuck like you know what!

Yeah yeah we'll run it for a couple of months if needs be. We want a good few to choose from I think don't we?

I'll see if I can find some shapes to copy online too so we get a good mix of shapes or something?

Least we know what we've got to beat now! 😀
"Where is that damn sofa?"
Got nothing to hide behind now! Haha

Ok, here's my feeble entry!!! 😛🙄

Really quite naff Homebase poor quality Trav used here which was mostly holes & filler but I managed to find a few pieces to knock this up along with some matching placemats & coasters.

Mitred edges and all sealed. Epoxy resin fixed. Customers were pleasantly surprised!

Lovely work that mate.

Brownie points for the coasters and place mats.

So this was a customers tile and you left the stuff with them? I bet they were over the moon. Did you mention to them that you were doing that?

Yes, customers tiles and left the gifts with them. They were very happy! Returning next week to grout & seal so should see them being used!

some cool work there.
customers must love it.
that is some marketing. every body that comes to see them will be shown the kitchen and the matching vase that the tiler made for free

what are ye gluing them together with

I think Bri said two part resin on one of his and Silicon on the first test one with the beveled corners.

Might be wrong.

Yeah Silicon on the 1st one, that wasn't great but, did work. Two part resin is the way forward, really bonds to the tiles.

Just a reminder for this guys.

I'll let you choose your own badge colour. If that sways the decision on whether to join in?
