Okay, so a couple of members have made some vases.

• Paul's Vases: Handmade Vase Competition

It was suggested we all have a bash and see what we can come up with. So I thought I'd make a competition out of it.

Upload your Vase images to there, then add them to this thread.

Once a fair few have made some, we'll create a Poll and make a forum member tag for the winner. We'll perhaps give this one a few months because the last thing I want is emails and calls from Wife's of tilers telling me I'm taking up their weekends.

"Vase Comp Winner" - Can even pick your own colour to match your company branding or the Vase colour or whatever.

That's an idea. Maybe after this Vase competition we do a table top mosaic one or something?

I just found this; Inspired to make a Vase competition

Looks like we nearly did this before.

I got the dewalt set up in the garage this evening and got started on mine, it going much better than I thought it would! I'm trying to set the bar high! It'll be ready in the next couple of days. Here's a little teaser pic of the water in the saw!

Here we are, as promised. A patriotic Union Jack vase! The flag was a bit of a faff but, I'm pleased with the result. Resin bonded the flag and then the 5 sides.

Yeah it's gulf stone, loads of silver flecks. You can see it a bit better on a close up.

No sealer, just as it came from the shop. Blooming pricey though, £40 worth to make this!

It's 30cm high and 14cm wide, money wise, I'm not sure it'd be viable to make them to sell. Like I say, that stone is £40 and it took about 4 hours to make, even at a tenner an hour, £80 is a bit steep for a vase!
