Hi CLMC123,

Love your potential business name. Goes well with your own name.

I was a computer programmer for more years than I care to remember, until the big businesses came up with the great idea of outsourcing the work to places like India, Spain and other countries I can't even spell. By the time they realised that, though it seemed a good solution and would save some money, in actual fact everything got done shoddily took forever and cost a mint. Then they decided they'd bring everything back in-house. Of course by then all the trained and experienced programmers had all become plumbers and the UK declared a shortage of experienced IT staff. Duh!

I didn't fancy staring down other people's loo's for the rest of my life, so I moved into Admin. S'ok, but no great challenge, so I'm hoping to change that with a new tiling career. I'm still at the stage of balancing time from work to organise a training course. I've press-ganged a couple of friends to let me do some small bits of tiling for them, but I'd rather get some decent training first.

I don't have a business yet. My name is Karen and K2 are my intials (KK). Just too lazy to spelll out my name.

Speak to you soon,
K2

 looks like il need your help k2 as im hopeless with computers.takes me half an hr just to find the letters.got the pc 2 christmasses ago for my daughter and i hardly ever go on it til i found this site.its great for information and advice-which im goin to need if il ever get any photos up.also to concept-i was in the rct at buller bks in aldershot but b4 that i was at mill hill in london training to b a postie cos the rct was full wen i joined so i was advised to join up and do anything and transfer straight away, which i did.iv been out now for 10yrs and still miss my mates.some iv kept in touch with, some not.diffrent life and for me,friends WERE friends.unless anyones been in forces,ul not no.yd u ask-were u in yourself and how long you been doin tiling,etc??........il be giving you tilers out there a bit of a tiling quiz sometime soon to rattle your brains.at college today and been given a knowledge revision test before we do our final exams.problem is,theres a few things we havnt even been taught yet but been told to find it out(what a great college).anyway, thought it would get yous thinking and get me some help in the process,if yous dont mind.

I think you'll surprise yourself with your knowledge... some of the answers you get while being 'correct' will be technically wrong cos the answers are out of date with 'best practice' 🙂

makes a change someone coming out of 'Ricshaws cabs & taxis' and not going for a driving job🙂

Hi Leanne
My wife did the course with me and works on a daily basis on our jobs. Mind you she does spend more time socialising, with the clients cups of tea etc. I think they see it as a novelty until she starts cutting tiles and slapping tiles on the walls. Then they are quite impressed. Moira does enjoy the tiling but for us "auld" yins office bound for years it can be a bit sore on the muscles and old bones.

Nice one!

Couldn't this tiler take you on for a bit?

ha just pervy lol i can handle abit of harmless flirting but he scared me 1 comment was something lyk "well you never no i might get a f**k outta you" n am sorry but thats a bit far!!!

To be fair, your right. Should of put his bollox through the wet cutter at that point.... lol

haha never thought of that! when i worked at north east tiling i had a crack on with the men but non of them steped over the mark like that, so no matter how much i need a job and love tiling a cant handle that lol

Thats past the point of bein 'pervy' into very dangerous territory where a lone woman is involved... havin said that it was probably one of his usual chat up lines, I bet if you followed him home, he'd stop on the way to buy some 'chewin baccy' and then at his place you would find his big eared brother/nephew/son/cousin on the balcony playin the banjo🙂

Got a female tiler in east sussex near me, called Bonnie tiler no joke and she is always busy

Some decent work on that feamle tiler site, to be fair.

I'm stuck for 'clean' female tiler names at the minute.... 😉

thats canny but aint really something people would remember its like people using there initials (no offence if any1 on here does) ***
