Hi Guys

What are your opinions regarding the usability between Ditra and Durabase matting? I do like the mesh on the top of the Durabase, seems to bind onto the adhesive better but have heard Durabase can be a bit more curly when initially laying it out flat?

Also, was anyone effected by that problem where quite a few Ditra installations suffered the fleece layer de-bonded from the matting, I heard it was quite a nightmare?

Never heard of Ditra splitting bond but the old Dural CI did.

As for laying , Ditra is like wallpapering but CI++ can be a mare once you get towards centre of the roll.

Hiya Dave. We've been using Ditra for years, even when it was fluted.
Never had a problem with a floor, and as Dave says i've never heard of it splitting. I've used dural a few times and i can't explian why but i just don't trust it, so i only use Ditra now.

you have got that round the wrong way Dave TT, it wasnt ditra that suffered the problems it was the old durabase and the other mats produced in the same factory that failed and yes it is a nightmare and many people are still suffering it

Only ever used Ditra and never had a problem with it, not heard of anyone else having any probs either

I think Genesis was the other one that failed. Durabase is ok and a lot less money than Ditra.
