Ditra verses Durabase CI matting

Tilers Forums Official Sponsors

So wots the outcome?

never used Ditra myself.......but used durabase a few times, and never had a problem.

Trying to persuade a customer at the mo, and durabase is much cheaper on-line.

The new Durabase is good, I think the Ditra rolls out better but I tend to stick Durabase down and place a bag of adhesive either end. Or you can cut the matting to length then roll it up but backward if you get what i mean, then when you lay it it wont tend to curl up at the ends.

I did a job for a company in south Essex using dura when about 180m2 failed. Must say they did pay for it to be all redone, matting and tiles. Saying that never use it again, only detra since then. If you shop around you can get it at a great price, i use CTD. I am happy to pay more, detra is so easy to use.

I have never used Dural...but I have used the Decomat.........no failures so far!....but I might me lucky on that last one?

that said I have just installed this last Sunday:

I had a failure with dural, granted they remedied it, but I lost faith in the product so I only use ditra now.

Ditra all the way.. well known and trusted and can buy @ £5.20 a metre inclusive for a roll delivered.. 🙂 durabase is rolled the other way and curls up at the ends :-( boooo

Would like to know that supplier please?
