Hi.. I have been given the opportunity to try out some products by Jason from Universeal uk ....

The job in hand is a travertine floor that was rather ingrained with dirt and cleaning products, very shallow and none grouted open pores on the tumbled surface.

They also have a wavey edge with pillowing , so the shallow grout made them harder for customer to keep clean, the job it's self by the original tiler wasn't the best installation and some quite bad lippage and grouting but it is deffo a lot better than it was.

And the slate was not in straight lines but again it was just to clean and re-seal.

So we have used Extreme clean to remove all this ingrained dirt etc... well it actually cleaned them better than i expected when i seen the colour the tiles had become over the yrs..

So we cleaned the floor and seen as the joints were approx 5mm shallow , we re-grouted as well... with ultra cololur in Jasmine.

We go back on friday to use Ultimate sealer from Jason as well...

The next floor was Multi coloured slate and it wasn't as dirty but required a good clean and to remove old acrylic emulsion sealer... so this was cleaned today as well.. and will be re-sealed on friday with gloss&seal satin finish..

Will post more pics on friday once all finished...

And these are some of the slate but we only cleaned it today.. so better pics when sealed..

Photo's look good Dave, the Travertine Floor has come up brand new...
jason .looks good .
i see you are doing well with universeal.
you entered market at a very difficult time and credit to you that i am seeing your products all over the place.
i apologize for not following through with samples you gave me.
i was going through a very torrid time with couple of big problems on jobs of my own and was totally consumed by them and did not give your product the attention it deserved .
would love to meet up again as i am genuinely interested in sealers as you know.
best regards johnny clarke

How do you apply the extreme clean Dave? does it need scrubbing in, then hoover off?
It does look good, A 50/50 shot would have been good though.
I must try the colour seal, as it's something I'm asked about from time to time.

we applied with a sponge at around a 3-1 ratio.. it was dirty lol ... left to dwell for around 15 to 20 mins then agitated with a bristle hand scrubber , then wet vac'd up to see result ... then applied another wetting of extreme to make sure we got deep into the pitting.. the second wetting worked a treat for the stubborn bits... wet vac'd up and then a wetting with clean water to neutralise..

pic 4 is a 50/50 clean and dirty shot from first wash ..

I always use Universeal Sealer, but didn't really think much of the extreme clean. It was recommended for grout haze removal by CTW. They said it was better then the grout residue remover, but didn't really do the job for me. I had to use HG in the end.

Wrong advice then , extreme is suitable for dirt etc but you will need a different make up for grout haze.. universeal do make a grout haze clean up liquid.. use the right products for the right job . :)

To be fair, it sounds like you put a lot more work into it hehe!

Then go back in and slap the toe rag

Me and PHG did a comparison test with Extreme and against LTP grimex... and the result was a draw IMO..

Just to add though for other readers, always check the suitability of a cleaner with the stone choice at hand.. not all cleaners or grout residue removers are suitable for calcium based stones..

That doesn't suprise me Dave, as we all LTP formulas are very strong... I would be interested to see how a comparison between the two products for removing topical coatings, sealer, waxes etc?
