Bathroom Wall Help after Removing Tiles

R

richteesside

Hi All,

I am after some advice.

I have removed tiles from my bathroom but have been left with very poor walls where the adhesive has brought the plaster away.

It looks like it is blocks which have been plastered onto directly so cannot reboard and tile onto that directly which is what I have always done previously. I have been suggested to skim over but not with plaster with plasterboard adhesive or tile adhesive to get a flat surface and then tile onto that but not sure if this is good advise? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have included pictures.

TIA
Richard

I was hoping to get away with patching it up but now you have said it, I know that is the best solution especially for the two worst affected walls, looks like I'm going to have to get dusty. Thanks for all responses.

If it makes you feel any better I have spent 4 hours todays hacking off painted skim and hemp tape off a huge plaster board wall 'cos it was crap. Only went there to assess and write a shopping list!
