I used to try and remember it like this when I first started to work for Topps. Green star in kitchens, blue star for granny smiths shower who lives on her own, white star for the family bathroom. The coverages chage aswell as the adhesive type and so would the grout but you can be safe with some type of basis like that.... or I was anyway.
