I have started a new poll on how busy you are..the other was getting old for info...
So please state whether you are busy or not......MANY THANKS...

Have got 2 days work booked in the diary this week and 2 the following week then 1 job in march nothing more due to some set backs and cancellations in the old diary. I am not too fussed as long as make £300 a week keeps the ship a float.

As i don't tile all the time due to my other business im giving tiling away at the moment, could tile full time if i wanted but i only do the jobs where i make good money.

not to busy on the tiling side of things 2 days next week but busy on the plastering side so not to bad:yawn:

not had any calls for few wks, but i'm doing 60 hrs + on the lorries so i'm enjoying the rest while i get it!
i wished i had more tiling work & less driving thou as its killin me keeping my eyes open!

Had a cancellation, A months work dry linning plastering and tiling because I could'nt get there quick enough, Heard those almighty word's "eastern europeans" where doing it, Still ticking over, not that fussed.

I'm ticking over - just.
I've been without a break since I started last year so I guess it had to happen eventually. Probably give me time now to sort out my van and website and half a dozen other promotional things I never got round to doing.

I had some nice big, quality jobs lined up for Feb but I've now had 3 call me to delay a month or two - with the "skint after Xmas" excuse.

Had I turned work away for these I'd me annoyed - as it is - I didn't.

(anyone else getting diddly squat via their respective suppliers?)

surprisingly and thankfully it has been a really busy start to the year for me,got jobs booked up for a few weeks long may it continue.:8:

Helps if you get cards in....lol

Made the error to commit to a new and untried contact. Worked like a s,o,b before christmas with the promise of a full january. Jan comes, he dissappears, rookie error i suppose, I turned down a load of work, now i'm sat at home, should be earning.:mad2:

Just starting to pick up now. Nothing for Jan, but that doesn't surprise me. Hope it stays busy all year.

nothing at the moment, had 1 job this year got one in about 2 weeks but im still working in my current job

Got 6 jobs lined up at moment along side my trucking. Hope they all fall into place nicely, hope to do them all. one day i might get round to tiling my own kitchen.
or so my missus tells me.

I started my tiling business as of Jan 3rd and have only had 3 working days without work this year - Woohoo! - Have had to work the last 2 weekends just to keep on top of everything

I have a small classified ad that runs every week in the local paper and I'm averaging 1 call a week from that. I'm currently booked though till late March and turning day work down with other local tradesmen.

I'm not earning big bucks yet, but that's 'cos I'm probably taking a day longer on a job than a more experienced tiler.

 enough on just now but the prices went in about a year ago 150 kitchen splashbacks , boring but good payers . odd jobs comming in about one a week just now

3 weeks ago, I went to work for a builder I've known for years. Tiles were not there , two days and I walked. Had to bring work forward. Been off this week till tomorrow, a small limestone floor. Got 3 weeks, then a few bits and bobs.............slow after working solid since may last year.

Im just getting back in to the business after 3 years out to do some other things, ive been tiling on and off for the past year but no im trying to get back in to it full time things are slow.

Ive been begining to wonder if my prices are to high.

I have my NVQ and CSCS and been tiling for about 7 years.

Can any 1 advise me on the current rates for tiling???

Thanks folks

not busy, advertising alot but no calls.. still on the post so the bills are getting payed luckely

not over busy with tiling at the moment, but the plumbing work is keeping me busy, so i cant complain!

went away for the first couple of weeks in Jan for a holiday in the sun after bring told by fellow tilers that this is the quietist time of year, but since being back have had a steady stream of work and now booked up until the middle of March.

I'm lucky as since starting Tiling full time July last year have got to know a couple of kitchen & bathroom fitters who hate tiling so are putting work my way!

Long may it continue!

Absolutely mowed out with work, have been busy since new year.
Have recently finished a 50 sq metre limestone floor and am due to finish another 60 sq metre limestone floor this week ( 900 x 450 x 20mm thick ) Have got a bad back now.
Also booked in
10 sq m slate shower room
90 sq metre ( various rooms walls & floors )
30 sq metre bathroom & wet floor porcelain
20 sq metre bathroom
16 sq metre bathroom
30 sq metre marble floor & underfloor heating

options on a few other jobs if I want them.
Have also been asked to have a look at a couple of vinyl floor tiling jobs

Hello Everybody

Things in California are overall slow, but I have been fortunate enough to stay busy. As I knock wood...

No not busy and to make matters worse I worked out that from jobs fallen through or that have been nicked by plumbers/kitchen fitters or just "gone away" I’ve lost just under £4k’s income in Jan & Feb alone.

Add to that my Yellow Pages fiaso, see seperate thread http://www.tilersforums.com/tiling-forum/7533-yellow-pages-disaster.html

who knows what the future holds!!!

Mind you saying that ive a 2 week commercial contract supposed to be starting next week which has been pushed back to the week after but apart from that!

Need to be hitting them streets me finks!
