Tile cutter SIRA

Hi

I am doing up a bathroom with big porcelain tiles 80cm x 40cm, i am prepping the walls first so i have a couple of days before i start touching them.

I need to buy a cutter that can handle this size tile and was wondering if any of you could reccomend any.

I have seen one that looks and sounds perfect but i can't be too sure...it's a "Sira top 68" it costs £171 or £209 including the box.

Any suggestions or feedback on what may be best please gang

Thanks all

Toby

A wet cutter with a nice big diamond cutting wheel and a decent size metal working platform is all you need. And a nice big water well with it too, for all the cutting you are going to be doing. Obviously the Plasplugs DIY 'all in' cutters are out of the equation.

🙂

Oh no!!!! i really wanted to use my beautifull plasplugs too 🙄

That went straight back where it came from mate followed by a bit of polite verbal garbage from yours truley 😉

i am gutted i have just read this thread...

i did a stupid thing and ordered some tiling tools before i have actually done any tiling.

i bought a rubi 400plus and a 700plus and you guessed it...a plasplugs wetcutter jobby. its the 115-00p one with metal top. but i guess its still aload of poo isnt it i hear you say. i think its 700watt

i'm just gonna jump in a lake

sorry, its a 650 watt and the rubi cutters are the ts40 plus and the ts 70 plus....

are these ok cutters

I have a plasplugs wetcutter which i find great for smaller jobs like kitchens an bathrooms. Nice handy size and very little mess. Not great for bigger jobs or for porcelain tho.

The rubi cutters are fine pal - the plasplugs ones are ok for the very small jobs, but you will quickly find that they start to leak into the mechanism and blow the fuses on the house your are in.

As a rule, always carry 2 wet cutters just in case. Preferably not plasplugs ones lol

Yeah the rubi cutters are good mate. i got 40 and it's fine. I agree with The others the plasplugs is fine for small jobs and small tiles but it does start to leak and stuff (or ours did anyway)

Anybody know where you can get sigma cutters at a good price or any decent websites that may sell them?
