I think if you need to crank things with pliers, you're probably too far out to be using clips.

Unless of course you’re trying to alter the shape of the piece to suit the situation.

Have you ever drilled a hole or two in a tile, then used screws to secure in place then removed the screws when everything sets and filled the hole with resin?
