Looks potentially messy! I always pour onto floor or in a bucket, and use a grout sponge

it was only a test, he did not need a primer.
cement-based substrate, 5 years old.

Have tried a pressure spray bottle before on large areas, ok at first but nozzles always block up eventually..
I use child labour for priming at the weekends and school holidays
