A bit of subject, but I was diagnosed with Housemaids Knee last year, given a course of steroids, followed by advise to take antiflams and ice packs, and would be ok after 3-5 weeks by the local joints specialist. Eight weeks after it started there was improvement, but kneeling even with Alpro Medical kneepads was very painful ànd had to be kept to a minimum choosing wall tiling jobs only.
To begin with, every evening was spent ice packing the knee and day times spent on pain killers and antiflams.
15 months later a full week floor tiling with a labourer knocking up adhesive and passing tiles so I rarely get off my knees still takes a lot of management over the weekend to reduce the inflammation.
Does this sound familiar to anyone diagnosed with the same, or is it more likely to be something else?
Dont want to sound like an old woman, and understand that 20 years tiling takes its toll, but would be good to get it sorted if it's been misdiagnosed.

Considering we use our bodies to earn a living, I am all for spending money (investing) in health.
NHS is stretched to breaking point now, before it's "saved" by privatisation.
I love the NHS and having had 4 kids and a very ill wife I have certainly nothing but praise, but it IS struggling.
I spend on physio, osteopath, acupuncture and joint specialists - all private.
I also try and eat well so that my body can repair itself.
We spend a fortune on cars, motorbikes and vans, yet very little on our bodies!
With your knees - I would certainly be looking for a private second opinion...

Seriously....I had fluid on the knee for two years.....had it drained at least once every couple of months ...steroid injections...but nothing seemed to help. In the end I had to have an operation to remove the lining of my left knee.....since then ( touch wood) it's been fine.

Got that tunnel rubbish and it's a .... Going for an MRI on Tuesday with regards to surgery as I'm banned from taking anti inflammatory or steroid drugs.

That sounds like a whole new thread! haha

Haha have been thinking about a new thread about it for weeks but haven't done it as I don't want it to come across as a sad/sympathy poor me thread lol but when I read the 'priorities' thread it makes me want to so people can put some things into perspective.
