Any advice for removing a cracked tile that has been fixed on underfloor heating (electric mat)

Solid floor mat was covered with self leveling compound.

Thank you for any advice

Cut the grout around the tile.
Use a screwdriver to break across a corner (small bit at a time).
View coverage of slc and UFH.
Continue with small pieces.
Pray!

be careful how deep you go cutting the grout , i know some builders done that recently and cut through the cable in several places :lol:

I tend to go about 6mm down the grout line with a grout rake. I tend to work from the middle of the tile outwards so as not to damage any surrounding tiles. DO NOT try to start at the edge of the broken tile as you will almost certainly chip the edge of the adjacent tile with chisel etc.

Just out of interest, why does the tile need replacing?

I use a Fein to cut the grout out for around the tile, then I wack the tile in the middle with a hammer and then I chip a little out at a time from the middle working my way out to the edge. Just be very careful not to go to deep.

read the title rich :lol::lol:

Oh yeah.... Opps.

Ok... I will rephrase...Why is the tile cracked? Was something dropped on it or has the adhesive lost its bond?

you could try core drilling the tile in a few places, mark the core to the depth of the tile first though, this will weaken it then break the blighter with small hammer!

Done it loads of times... I remove the grout then simply smash tile with a Hammer. Heat mats aren't as delicate as you think and if you smash the tile with a couple of sharp blows it's quite easy.
