I would like to know if it is possible to remove tile adhesive of the back of some tiles. This is the powder type adhesive on the back of some porcelain tiles.

thanks

Re: Remove adhisive of tiles

Yes it is possible

Orbital sander and 40 grit paper will work but tedious..

Also with porcelain the adhesive does not grab like it can on ceramics due to the low absorption of the tile biscuit, so some times a chisel type scraper will suffice.. worth a try.

I have a 100 mm diamond cup stone for my makita grinder, works a treat, blasts that stuff right off those tiles, be sure to wear a good quality mask though some adhesives have mirco silica in them a known carsinagenic ( is that how you spell that) You know causes cancer!
