Price Check

Yes but if that bus is goes to a different destination then your sitting at the stop waiting.

I'm lucky not to have to look for work or drop my prices in the last 6 years. But I imagine not everyone is in this position.
If was quiet though I'd be more competitive with my pricing. I always price jobs that will pay over what I need to earn per day anyway

Make your estimate valid for 1 month then if they haven't come back in that time another bus will have arrived. If they do come back after that period then you reserve the right to resubmit a tender based on increased costs.
In my experience it's only contractors that are submitting quotes 6 months in advance and require your price to be valid for that time.
It all depends on your initial contact wording and how much work you want.
Just my thoughts.

Lol

joking apart I think as andy.
always say to my clients the price, then I also say that if the work is proceeding well, then be able be a discount.
(perhaps)....
90% accept my conditions, (I almost always recommended by another customer).
10% say another tiler do without. I say let do to another tiler then it !!! and half accept my terms.
(Sorry if I was a little arrogant, but truth) 🙂
I introduce myself by customers as: Half trowel.
never say: I am a professional, I let the work I do speak for me.
