ive just picked up a job renewing 70 bathroom floors in hotel, and they want me to supply the tiles.
They are on a tight budget so ive shopped about and picked up a few differant samples for them to look at, mainly porcelain but a couple of ceramics.

Was wondering what the building regulatons are after being told in topps that im 'not allowed' to put ceramic down in any commercial application.. is this true?

Im gonna go with porcelain just to be on the safe side.

:ba

Porcelain are alot more hard wearing, not allowed ceramics, not one I've heard of but would stand corrected.

Yeah i mean porcelain would allways be my choice on a high traffic floor but its just where they was on a budget i considered a ceramic realy..id like to know what the actual regulations are.. or its just another no it all topps tiles worker lol

hi Charlie

the link below might help you to make a decision about what tiles to go for.
PEI Grades

if you can find a ceramic tile that is graded 4 or above, then you might be on to a winner.

Plenty of bathroom floor been done in ceramics in the last millenium without a problem. Sounds like someone with a little bit of knowledge but not quite enough

exactly what i thought mate, anyway the client liked the porcelain in end so thats what there getting. im sure the gut was just trying to get me to buy the more expensive tiles !!!
