Hey guys.
Just looking for abit of advice.

Should i buy a wetsaw or grinder first???

Thanks.

Wetsaw first mate

Hi,When you can, purchase both.A grinder has many use`s. As you are just starting out I would advise not buying a Wet Saw for one job. Can you rent a Wet Saw in your area? Can you cut Free-Hand with a Grinder?:gettree:

I think it may come down to what type of work you intend to do. A wet saw will handle most jobs, so you would probably go with this to start. I'd like to see a wet saw and grinder in every tilers tool kit.
Grinders can take a fair amount of practice to master where as a wet saw is easier to use and will offer more flexability into the future if you choose one that is good quality and has the capacity for future larger projects.

if not getting both at same time I'd go or a wet saw first, yeah, you'll have to set it up outside, but would you use a grinder indoors!! I'd have both tho' you can pick up a good angle grinder and blade relatively cheap

hey guys. am just starting out and it will be for more than one job.

seen a dewalt grinder on screwfix for £40. (no blade) whats it like??

Try TradeTiler for tools. I use a Makita angle grinder...in fact i have 3.
CTD had a deal for an angle grinder recently £20 i believe ?

Both have there pro's and con's without stating the obvious, water and dust, so it would depend on the working environment, IMHO you can't beat a wet saw for 99 % of cuts, an angle grinder is handy, sometimes, so start with a wet saw, then when you can add a grinder, as some people have said, they are relatively cheap nowadays.

Hi Stingray,When the Jobs are in the bag and the cashflow is good, buy both! Both are priceless and will earn their keep.

All the best for 2009:8: 2Balls
