Hi all. I'm jason and a diy er. Got to tile a friends kitchen and lounge. Kitchen straight forward concrete floor. The lounge is floor boards nailed to concrete. Can't really backer board it then tile due to height. Can you tile over boards with flexible adhesive as there is no flex in boards and no curling or is it best to rip up boards and tile onto concrete. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the speedy reply. Boards should be 19mm . Tiles are 12 to 13 mm and 5 to 6mm adhesivery. Will then caulk round edge skirting so should be OK. Should I seal concrete with latex or pvc. Cheers

Pva would be fine with ready mixed adhesive. Where it fails is when gypsum meets pva meets water meets cement and even then it's not a certainty. But when it does go with etringite failure, it really goes!
