Hi,
I have been doing a domestic job this week tiling a very small bathroom
In the late afternoon the plumber came in and saw me using my plasplugs mastertiler.
He works on site during the day and told me about the cordless tile cutters that all the tilers use on site,
He said its saves all the lugging about too.
Though it seems pricey, just wondering if its that good it could pay for itself over and over again.
I dont know if any of you have used them or know if they are any good.
Theres one in Screwfix for £240 its a Makita 4191DWD 12V Cordless Tile Cutter.

Cheers
Vinnie.

Ok for ceramics....wait till you try a large format porelain...or floor tiles..

And it's cheaper at Tradetiler...

Makita cordless tile saw

Not what you might think of as a wet saw but this is a very capable machine. However we don't recomend this machine for cuting tiles in half all day

It is best suited to smaller cut outs on tiles (round sockest, pipes, dorways, windows etc)

Price: £189.85 £218.33 Including VAT at 15%

Crap........well maybe a bit harsh.

Ok for soft ceramics........naff at anything else.

I also have the 1.3 batteries with mine, and it eats them.

Taken mine out of the van, and relegated it to the garage.

sold mine on e-bay. Now I use a grinder with a mercrist blade in it for places like flats etc.

I used one for over two years and done about 400 Kitchen splashbacks on new council houses and the battery is a 12v 2.6Ah its only now showing its age . I found it to be the handiest tool in the box for this type of job cutting sockets on bog standard ceramics , I could not fault it and just about to buy a new Battery , I'm only on my third blade about £40 but as i say mines has paid for itself many.times :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

mines in the shed also. havent used it for two years. may have to put it on ebay. good little machine but i use corded makita grinder now. the blades are nice and thin though. just dont drop anything on it as they bend easily
